SAFE DRIVING ON SLIPPERY WET ROADS
Winter weather can present many driving headaches for drivers, slick roadways being one of them. Most skids can be prevented by simply adjusting driving to the conditions and remembering how to recover if you should come in contact with a slick surface.
- Adjust your speed if you encounter a dangerous road condition
- Slow down before reaching curves
- Plan ahead for lane changes
- Anticipate stops by slowing down very gradual
- Watch for ice patches
- Accelerate slow in heavy snow
- Steer in the direction your vehicle is sliding in a skid
- Do not steer against a skid
