Accident Reconstructionists now have the technology to pinpoint specific factors that may lead to a vehicle accident. Vehicles are now built to include an Event Data Recorder, which is similar to an airplane’s black box. And while this tool does not map out the entire reconstruction, it does allow the Reconstructionist to verify such things as:
- Speed and speed changes
- Brake application
- Throttle position
- Seat belt use
- Activation and deployment of air bags
The data from this recorder has been proven accurate, and is also accepted evidence in court.
Police use this data to find out if the driver acted criminally, and insurance companies look for this data to uncover who was at fault. Even if the parties involved do not lie in their statements of what happened they can often have trouble recalling every detail.
Jaguar Appraisals & Determinations, Inc. has the technology needed to read the Event Data Recorder while performing an Accident Reconstruction, and have used it in many of our cases.
Should you find you have a claim involving a vehicle accident, and need to get the tell-tale evidence of what actually happened, contact Jaguar Appraisals & Determinations, Inc. today for a complete Accident Reconstruction, including reading of the vehicle’s Event Data Recorder.
